Our client is a well-established, large commercial real estate organization is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join its expanding accounting team. This role supports a diverse portfolio of commercial properties and works closely with property management, asset management, and corporate accounting teams.

Position Overview

The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle property accounting for a portfolio of commercial real estate assets. This role requires strong commercial real estate experience, Yardi proficiency, and the ability to manage month-end close and financial reporting independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned commercial properties
• Manage full month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Perform bank reconciliations, CAM reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Review and analyze general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance
• Partner with property management on operating budgets and forecasts
• Support annual audits and respond to auditor requests
• Utilize Yardi for financial reporting, accounting transactions, and property-level data
• Improve and maintain accounting processes and internal controls

Qualifications

• 3+ years of property or real estate accounting experience (commercial real estate strongly preferred)
• Hands-on experience with Yardi
• Strong understanding of CAM reconciliations
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
