Senior Project Accountant

Overview We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant for our Building Division in Chicago, IL. This position requires 50% travel to Dallas, TX and involves managing accounting for mega-projects and multiple large projects. Responsibilities Review and process subcontracts, subcontract change orders, and performance and payment bonds for compliance. Collect and review project subcontractor/supplier lien waivers. Collect, review, and process subcontractor/supplier monthly project invoices, ensuring they are properly accrued and posted to correct cost reports and phase codes. Ensure proper payments to all subcontractors and major suppliers. Maintain understanding of the Walsh cost report and related accounting functions. Ensure timely submission of project P&Ls and review them for accuracy. Process cost transfers on project cost reports for Project Management staff. Analyze owner billing each month and produce independent owner billings when applicable. Collect, review, and submit monthly owner billings to the Accounting Manager or Controller. Monitor cash flow and communicate with project staff about A/R tracking and payment status. Work independently to manage accounting operations for mega-projects or multiple large projects. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a business‑related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in construction accounting or a related field. Ability to travel 50% to Dallas, TX. Salary & Benefits Salary: $86,000 - $120,000 per year. This role may also be eligible for a bonus and other benefits.
