What You'll Do:

• Provide post-anesthesia care to pediatric and adult patients in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Support patients across all major surgical procedures, excluding critical care services
• Float to Pediatric PACU as needed to accommodate patient volume and staffing
• Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts, bladder scanners, and Accuvein
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient recovery care
• Manage patient ratios of approximately 1:2, with 2-3 scheduled weekends per contract
• Document patient care accurately in Epic EMR system
• Assist in emergency preparedness and adapt to unit needs as directed by management

What You Need:

• Valid ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications
• PACU or Pre/Post Op nursing experience preferred
• Ability to work in a high-volume, diverse surgical environment
• Comfort with floating within Pediatric PACU and adult recovery units
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to report as assigned during emergency events per unit policy

About the Assignment:

This role is based at a leading facility in New Orleans providing surgical and procedural services across multiple specialties, including regional anesthesia, ENT, Gastroenterology, and interventional radiology. The PACU cares for patients recovering from a variety of surgeries in a busy, high-volume setting featuring 34 ORs across two floors. Nurses will support both pediatric and adult patients during pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery stages, utilizing advanced equipment and collaborating closely with surgical teams.
