As an unarmed Security Officer at a government courthouse location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and provide professional customer service to visitors and staff. You will communicate clearly, respond to evolving needs, and contribute to a respectful environment. - Provide courteous customer service to visitors, court personnel, and members of the public while following site-specific procedures and applicable emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned court facility areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner and notify appropriate site contacts or public authorities as directed.
- Monitor access points and assist with visitor flow in accordance with established court facility protocols.
- Prepare accurate activity, incident, and observation reports and communicate security-related concerns to Allied Universal leadership and designated site representatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
