Director of Financial Reporting

A well-established, private equity-backed North American manufacturer and distributor is seeking a Director of Financial Reporting to join its finance leadership team. Operating a large network of distribution centers and branches across the U.S. and Canada, the company is entering an exciting phase of growth and modernization, creating an opportunity for a finance leader to help elevate reporting, analytics, and business decision support. This is a highly visible role that sits at the intersection of Accounting, FP&A, Sales, and Operations , providing executive leadership with meaningful insights into business performance across multiple locations, customers, products, and regions. Highly visible Director-level position with exposure to executive leadership Opportunity to influence business decisions through financial analysis and reporting Blend of financial reporting, business analytics, and operational finance Work cross-functionally with Finance, Sales, Operations, IT, and regional leadership Join a stable, growing organization with a large multi-site footprint across North America Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial reporting Develop executive reporting packages, dashboards, and variance analyses that translate financial results into actionable business insights Analyze financial performance across business units, branches, customers, products, and regions to identify trends and improvement opportunities Evaluate key business drivers including revenue, pricing, product mix, gross margins, customer profitability, operating expenses, and working capital Partner closely with Accounting and FP&A to ensure consistency between actual results, forecasts, budgets, and management reporting Present financial findings and recommendations to executive leadership and operational stakeholders Improve reporting processes, KPIs, dashboards, and automation initiativesSupport consolidated financial statements, GAAP compliance, audit activities, reconciliations, and internal controls Collaborate with Finance and IT teams to improve reporting capabilities and data quality Must Haves Strong foundation in public accounting, financial reporting, and consolidated financial statements Approximately 7–10+ years of progressive accounting, financial reporting, audit, or finance experience Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting Experience developing executive reporting, dashboards, and management presentations Ability to analyze business performance and clearly explain financial drivers Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large, complex datasets Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner across Finance and Operations Nice to Haves CPA Experience within manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, wholesale, food, or other multi-location businesses Experience supporting branch or regional performance analysis Familiarity with business intelligence, reporting, or data visualization tools Experience with consolidations and intercompany accounting Prior experience presenting financial analysis to senior leadership This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who enjoys moving beyond traditional financial reporting and wants to become a trusted business partner, helping leadership understand operational performance while improving reporting processes and decision-making across a complex, multi-location organization. #J-18808-Ljbffr
