Physical Therapist‑Float (Float) Dept: PCH‑MAIN | Rehab Resource Pool Location: Phoenix Shift: Mon‑Fri, Days, 8am‑5pm Category: Rehab/Therapy Posting #: 1022755 Employee Type: Full‑Time Position Summary The role delivers physical therapy services to a pediatric population ranging from neonatal to adolescence/young adulthood. Responsibilities include evaluation, program planning, and treatment of patients using modalities such as exercise, neuromuscular re‑education, mobilization, heat/cold, taping, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound. Treatment plans are age‑appropriate, functional, measurable, and family‑centered, following standard guidelines of the APTA and Phoenix Children’s Policies & Procedures Manual. Position Duties Evaluate and treat patients across diagnoses including neurological, sensorimotor, musculoskeletal, complex medical conditions, and trauma. Use pediatric behavior management, match interventions to child’s age/ability, and develop measurable goals with agreed timeframes. Implement the plan of care using multiple modalities and provide patient/family education for home/program implementation. Maintain documentation in accordance with the Joint Commission, state/federal guidelines, and CARF standards, and participate in Total Quality Management. Coordinate care with interdisciplinary hospital teams and community resources; contribute to discharge planning, care conferences, school re‑entry, and outpatient rounds. Build rapport within the department, hospital, and community; participate in in‑service training and supervise assistive personnel (PT assistants, rehab technicians, students) with performance evaluation input. Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as requested. Qualifications Graduation from a PT program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association. Pediatric clinical experience desired. Specialty training in pediatric orthopedics, neuro, NDT, taping, child development, or other relevant areas preferred; APTA pediatric specialty certification preferred. Current Arizona State Board of Physical Therapy license or compact license privileges in Arizona. Current Arizona DPS fingerprint clearance card. Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Provider from AMA or equivalent.
