Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a Level II Trauma Center, requiring willingness to work on an IRF unit and strong critical thinking skills.

Details

• Therapy staff supports the entire 383-bed acute care facility plus a 28-bed IRF unit, averaging a census of 240
• Patient ratios are 4 patients/day on the IRF unit and 8-12 patients/day in acute care
• Equipment includes 2 therapy gyms, Vector, LiteGait, and an ADL apartment
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Friday through Monday
• One weekend shift per month required
• Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees

Requirements

• Active PT license required if applicable
• Active BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• Willingness to work on the IRF unit required
• Strong critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills required
• Hospital or IRF experience highly preferred
• Stroke or neuro experience preferred
• No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months

• Main responsibilities include evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning
• Participates in team conferences and family training
• Works with adaptive devices and equipment
• Best fit for flexible, team-oriented, and collaborative candidates
• Scrub colors vary by department, with clinical support staff wearing Caribbean Blue
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
