Duties

Help

• You will implement legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets.
• You will execute modifications to financial systems, programs, and/or operations and establish criteria and other means to assess, investigate, or analyze a variety of unusual problems and conditions.
• You will develop, determine, and interpret budgetary policies and practices.
• You will provide advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization's programs and activities.

• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• This is a Financial Management Level II certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating extensive knowledge of administrative and financial management systems. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Exploring and researching alternate funding methods; 2) Working within budgetary policies, precedents, procedures, and regulations; 3) Formulating budget estimates for programs with significantly changed funding requirements; and 4) Identifying, analyzing and resolving a range of budgetary problems.
