Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee

What You Will Do Be paid to learn and apprentice the Safelite way through hands‑on and classroom training. Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass. Recalibrate automotive safety systems, troubleshoot, and complete diagnostic testing. Provide additional services and products as needed. Study and pass testing to become a Safelite‑certified Technician, demonstrating proficiency in installations and a positive attitude. Operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools, and chemicals safely throughout the workday. Performs other duties as assigned. Comply with all company policies and standards. What You’ll Get Competitive weekly pay starting at $23.50/hour, increasing to $27.75/hour after training and certification. Potential for promotion in your first year based on performance metrics such as efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. Experience Must be 18 years of age or older (Required). Skills and Abilities Regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist the body. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all laws and be subject to in‑cab vehicle safety camera/video surveillance technology. Maintain professionalism and passion for outstanding customer service and exceeding expectations. Work safely outdoors in a wide variety of weather conditions and extreme temperatures for extended periods. Work safely with chemicals (including flammable chemicals) as applicable to the Safelite Way of Fitting. Work scheduled days, with flexibility on start and end times to accommodate customer needs. Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools for recalibrations and troubleshooting. Problem‑solving and troubleshooting issues independently and collaboratively. Read, write and interpret English and technical directions. Communicate orally (via phone) and in writing (via computer or other electronic means). Maintain a professional appearance, adhering to company dress code and PPE policies. Stay stable under professional or personal pressure and opposition (e.g., time pressure, productivity measures).
