Job Description Job Description CNC Lathe Programmer / Setup / Operator - Mazak with Mazatrol Control Company: WD Lee Job Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:30 AM-5:00 PM Shift: Day shift, 4-day workweek, 10-hour days Pay: $22.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on knowledge and experience Location: 212 Trakas Blvd, Gastonia, NC 28052 Job Summary WD Lee is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer / Setup / Operator with strong experience on Mazak CNC lathes using Mazatrol control . This position is ideal for a skilled machinist who can program, set up, and operate CNC lathes while producing high-quality precision parts. The right candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently from drawings, specifications, and work instructions. This is a full-time position with a stable Monday-Thursday schedule, weekly pay, and an excellent benefits package. Responsibilities include: * Program, set up, and operate Mazak CNC lathes with Mazatrol control * Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job specifications * Select tooling, inserts, fixtures, speeds, and feeds for efficient production * Perform setups, offsets, tool changes, and first-piece inspections * Machine parts to close tolerances and quality requirements * Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and indicators * Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed * Inspect parts throughout production to ensure conformance * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area * Work with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules * Follow all company safety and quality procedures Requirements Qualified candidates should have: * Experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes * Experience with Mazak machines and Mazatrol control * Ability to read and understand machining drawings and tolerances * Strong knowledge of turning operations, tooling, inserts, and workholding * Ability to inspect parts using standard precision measuring equipment * Ability to make offsets and adjustments to maintain part quality * Dependable attendance and strong work ethic * Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Preferred but not required: * Job shop or custom machining experience * Experience machining a variety of materials * Experience holding close tolerances * Strong troubleshooting skills * Ability to help improve cycle times, setups, and machining processes Schedule This position works a 4-day workweek: Monday through Thursday6:30 AM to 5:00 PMFour 10-hour days Benefits WD Lee offers a strong benefits package, including: * Weekly pay * Weekly attendance bonus of 2.5 hours per week * Health insurance through BCBSNC * Employee coverage cost is only $40 per week, WD Lee pays the remaining cost of the employee's coverage * Dental insurance paid by WD Lee * Life insurance paid by WD Lee * Simple IRA retirement plan with 3% company match * Paid time off accrual * 7 paid holidays plus 1 floating holiday Paid Time Off PTO accrual is based on length of service: * After completing 90 days through less than 1 year of service: 24 hours PTO * 1 year through 4 years of service: 40 hours PTO * 5 years through 9 years of service: 80 hours PTO * 10 or more years of service: 120 hours PTO Paid Holidays WD Lee provides 7 paid holidays: * New Year's Day * Good Friday * Memorial Day * Independence Day * Labor Day * Thanksgiving Day * Christmas Day Plus one floating holiday .
