Estimator

Summary A leading value-added mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator to support preconstruction and bidding efforts for complex commercial and industrial projects across Southern California. This role is responsible for producing accurate, competitive estimates from early design through fully developed documents and working closely with internal project teams and design partners. This position is best suited for someone who understands mechanical construction bidding, can work from incomplete documents, and is comfortable supporting design-build and design-assist work. Key Responsibilities Review bid documents, drawings, specifications, and addenda Attend pre-bid meetings and interface directly with clients and design teams Perform quantity takeoffs, material pricing, equipment pricing, and subcontractor analysis Size and lay out HVAC and plumbing systems from incomplete design documents Prepare detailed estimates and proposals using Autobid or similar estimating software Support design-assist and design-build efforts by working with engineers to meet budget targets Coordinate with project management and CAD detailing teams during preconstructionEvaluate safety, insurance, bonding, and labor considerations as part of bid strategy Maintain organized estimating files, data, and historical pricing Project Experience Preferred Healthcare and HCAI-regulated facilities Hotels and hospitality Student housing and higher education Laboratories and clean rooms Manufacturing, power plants, and cogeneration facilities Pharmaceutical, microelectronics, and cGMP environments Qualifications 3–5+ years of mechanical construction estimating experience Strong knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems Ability to produce complete estimates from incomplete or conceptual documents Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam Experience with Autobid or similar on-screen estimating software preferred Strong communication, organization, and time management skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Compensation & Benefits Competitive benefits package Long-term opportunity with a stable and growing mechanical contractor #J-18808-Ljbffr
