Machine Operator

We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to maximize production line efficiency with minimal supervision while ensuring all finished products adhere to company quality policies and customer specifications. The role involves overseeing daily work activities and job assignments of other line employees, making necessary adjustments to the production line, and conducting thorough product testing to ensure conformity to specifications.

• Operate production line to maximize efficiency with minimal supervision.
• Oversee daily work activities and job assignments of other line employees.
• Ensure production line is set up according to company quality policies and customer specifications.
• Account for documentation of fiber used during production shift.
• Continually check fiber blends, resin/binder mixes, colors, weights, thickness, lengths to meet company quality policies and customer specifications.
• Conduct necessary product testing, take immediate corrective action for non-conforming products, and repeat tests to ensure conformity.
• Maintain proper general maintenance of line, spray stations, pumps, and filter changes according to company quality policies.
• Clean and maintain production line filters and screens during shifts.
• Complete and sign Production Report to verify product has been manufactured according to quality policies and specifications.
• Clean line as required during scheduled cleanups and on a daily basis.
• Conform to all Quality/Safety requirements and procedures.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement Process.

• Machine operation experience: 1 year (Required)
• Non-woven manufacturing experience: 1 year (Preferred)
• Mechanical aptitude
• Good math and measuring skills
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to read and interpret specifications and customer reference documents
• General knowledge of operation of the production line
• Preventive maintenance
• Troubleshooting skills
• Quality inspection
• Product testing

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Good communication skills
• Good problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well with others and have a cooperative attitude
• Ability to bend, stoop, lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 50+ pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, and be active for entire shift (periodic breaks provided)
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment

This role offers 4 total openings: (1) 1st Shift (Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:00pm) and (3) 3rd Shift (Monday – Friday 11:00pm – 7:00am). One of the 3rd Shift positions could possibly be a 2nd Shift position (3pm-11pm). Some Saturdays may be required, regardless of shift. The work environment is non-climate-controlled, requiring adaptability and resilience.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Conover, NC.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
