Costume Support Ambassador, Sesame Place San Diego (Seasonal)

What you get to do Assist show performers with costumes before and after shows Create venue documents Preset a large inventory of costumes daily based off cast schedules Perform light sewing repairs Hand and machine wash a large volume of costumes daily Perform daily venue procedures including cleaning, organization and inventory In some cases, perform stagehand duties during shows Receive, sort, and put away laundry/costumes Complete daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork What it takes to succeed High school diploma or equivalent At least 18 years old Strong written/verbal communication skills; able to read, write and speak English Previous theater/costuming experience preferred Multi‑task and adapt to changes in a fast‑paced work environment Available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours; i.e. be able to work opening and closing shifts A valid state driver’s license and be able to obtain a company driver’s license Availability This is a seasonal role During the peak season, must have 5 days of unrestricted availability, to include the weekends You must be able to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays The Sesame Place season runs from March 2026 through Labor Day 2026, with onboarding and all required training to be completed prior to the start of the season. Hours may fluctuate based on business need; may be scheduled up to 40 hours weekly. What else is important Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs. Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed. Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor‑to‑waist/waist‑to‑overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing). Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, and cold/heat temperature extremes. Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals. Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities.
