The Histotechnologist will perform specimen processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and quality control while ensuring compliance with laboratory safety and regulatory standards.Key ResponsibilitiesReceive, label, and process surgical and biopsy specimensPerform tissue fixation, processing, embedding, and sectioning (microtomy)Prepare slides using routine and special stains (H&E, PAS, IHC support)Operate and maintain histology lab equipment (microtomes, processors, cryostats)Perform frozen sections when requiredEnsure proper specimen identification and chain-of-custodyMaintain quality control and troubleshoot staining/processing issuesFollow CLIA, CAP, OSHA guidelines and lab safety protocolsDocument procedures, results, and quality assurance logsAssist pathologists and lab teams with workflow efficiencyRequired QualificationsAssociate or Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology, Biology, or related fieldCertification as HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) preferred (or eligible)Hands-on experience in histology lab operationsKnowledge of tissue processing, staining methods, and lab safety standardsStrong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced lab environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and special stainsFamiliarity with LIS systems and lab documentationPrior clinical lab experience in hospital or diagnostic lab settingsStrong troubleshooting and equipment maintenance skills#Histotechnologist #HistologyLab #HTASCP #HTLASCP #ClinicalLab #LaboratoryJobs #PathologyLab #TissueProcessing #Microtomy #HistologyTechnician #HematoxylinEosin #HEStrain #SpecialStains #FrozenSection #Immunohistochemistry #IHC #CAP #CLIA #OSHA #LabSafety #MedicalLabJobs #HealthcareCareers #DiagnosticLab #SpecimenProcessing #LabTechnologistRequired SkillsHistotechnologist #J-18808-Ljbffr ANCESTOR HEALTH
