Position Summary At the University of Nebraska’s College of Engineering, our missionis to train the next generation engineering workforce and solveproblems of global importance. We’re one college in two cities(Lincoln and Omaha) on three campuses. This position can be officedin either Lincoln or Omaha, NE. As a Finance/Grants Specialist, you will serve as a trustedresource to departments, providing expert guidance and supportacross a broad range of financial functions. Responsibilities Managing an assigned portfolio of accounts, advising onfinancial management, funding strategies, and compliance across avariety of funding sources which may include state accounts,grants, service centers, and/or revolving accounts. Supporting sponsored research through post-award grantfinancial management and administration. Providing consultative guidance on university financialpolicies, sponsored programs, and business processes, helpingdepartments navigate complex issues and identify practical,compliant solutions. Reviewing and coordinating complex financial activities,including travel, contracts, journal entries, accounts receivable,capital assets, and other financial transactions. Preparing and reviewing standardized and ad hoc financialreports, ensuring accuracy and investigating and resolvinganomalies. Providing direction to other staff on financial orgrants-related issues. Ensuring that records are maintained according to policy. Following an initial onsite training period of up to six months,this position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule consistingof four days per week in the office and one remote workday. Allhybrid arrangements are subject to supervisor approval and aredetermined based on operational needs. Sponsorship will not be offered for this position.
