Accounting SupervisorThis position will require access to ITAR and/or EAR controlled technical data, technology or source code, and requires that all individuals in this role be authorized to access such informationPosition SummaryThe Accounting Supervisor reports to the Controller. The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for cost accounting, inventory control and valuation, manufacturing software product flow control and various accounting functions. The position requires strong analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail. The Accounting Supervisor interacts with people in all levels of the organization; therefore, excellent communication skills are also required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Manage inventory control and valuationManage product flow control in the manufacturing software systemPrepare and analyze cost reports and complete cost accounting functionsPromote usage of manufacturing software system as it relates to inventory controlPrepare various federal, state, and local annual report filingsQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job responsibility satisfactorily. He or she will be required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties requested by his or her supervisorSpecific Tasks and Focus Areas:Manage inventory control and valuationDaily, process all Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) dispositioned as scrapAnnually, update the labor and material rates in the manufacturing software systemAnnually, prepare raw material suggested standard cost changes for Supply Chain review, and make necessary changes in manufacturing software systemDevelop relationships with Supervisors, Leads and Operators in various departments to know issues regarding physical inventory usage, reporting and work order processingFor new or changed inventory items, roll standard costs for work in process and finished goods in manufacturing software system according to BOM/Routing buildTransfer all made to order Internal Work Order Requisition into available inventory after receipt of packing slipMaintain inventory FIFO continuityImplement and maintain cycle count codes and count frequencies for raw material, work in process, finished goods, and customer furnished/advance funded materialEnsure non-back flushed and shop supply items are coded correctly in manufacturing software systemTrain personnel in performing inventory counts and identification of types of inventoryWork in process via Assembly TrackComponent inventory, finished goods, raw material and customer furnished /advance funded materialCreate and implement alternative counting methods that improve count accuracy and efficiency including methods such as weigh counting, standard piece weight and standardized tablesCoordinate plant wide physical inventory count activitiesRoll costs monthly and update Excel cost sheets and manufacturing software system percentage of completionAt month end, distribute negative inventory report to Supervisors for correctionAudit physical inventory counts and make necessary correctionsReview data entry of physical countsReview general ledger accounts for inventory and month end accrualsReview tooling accruals for completenessCalculate and record raw materials, work in process, and finished goods in general ledgerRespond to monthly internal audit questionsRespond to annual audit question from external CPA firmAt month end, distribute production reporting error report to Supervisors for correctionMonthly, analyze and reconcile material usageCoordinate and manage annual Obsolete Inventory ReviewManage product flow control in the manufacturing software systemTrain production personnel on production reportingNCR form training with production managers and personnelProduction training with ITTraining for Interdepartmental transfersTraining with cycle counting/organization for managers and personnelEnsure all negative reporting issues are cleared and reported correctlyProvide additional (re)training as required to productionPrepare and analyze cost reports and complete cost accounting functionsPrepare weekly and monthly job cost reports on in-progress programsPrepare job close out reports as neededPrepare miscellaneous cost reports as neededAttend weekly production and NCR meetingsMonitor items on receiving holdPrepare monthly scrap reportPrepare program scrap analysis as requested and item specific scrap for quoting processAdvise Director of Sales and production managers of sales price deficienciesEnsure that the labor collection system is operating efficientlySchedule labor collection initiativesPromote usage of manufacturing software system as it relates to inventory controlWork with manufacturing software system technical report writers in creating various data reportsPrepare various federal, state, and local annual report filingsPrepare and file annual property tax reportsPrepare and file various annual U.S. Government manufacturing reportsCompile annual research and development costs expended for tax credit filingTraits and Characteristics:Takes responsibility for completed one's own work assignments within given time framesAccepts constructive feedback and learns from one's mistakesProvides suggestions and/or takes actions that result in improved work processes, communications, or task performanceParticipates in relevant training and professional development programs and applies knowledge, skills, abilities to ones workTakes responsibility for accomplishing work goals within accepted timeframesContributes to an environment that supports and accommodates diverse people and ideasInteracts respectfully and cooperatively with othersAA/EOE/W/M/Vet/DisableR.E.
