Maintenance Mechanic / Facilities Maintenance Technician – Direct Hire

Location: Alexandria, MN

Pay: $25.50-$30.00 per hour

Type: Full-Time

Education Requirements

High school diploma or GED required. Technical training in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, HVAC, electrical systems, or a related field preferred. Additional maintenance certifications are a plus.

Experience Requirements

Minimum two years of maintenance, facilities maintenance, or industrial maintenance experience preferred. Experience maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical systems. Knowledge of HVAC systems, compressed air systems, plumbing, machine tools, and material handling equipment. Ability to diagnose equipment issues and perform repairs independently. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and preventative maintenance skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and work with minimal supervision. Experience training or providing work direction to maintenance personnel is a plus. Willingness to work a flexible schedule as business needs require.

Physical Capabilities

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull maintenance tools, parts, and equipment. Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday. Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and around industrial equipment safely. Ability to perform maintenance tasks in manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments. Ability to work around moving machinery and equipment while following safety procedures.

Job Duties

Install, repair, maintain, and relocate mechanical systems and equipment throughout the facility. Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and production equipment. Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC systems, compressed air systems, plumbing, and machine tools. Service material handling equipment, including hoists, cranes, forklifts, and maintenance lifts. Conduct routine inspections and testing to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. Manage maintenance inventory, replacement parts, and shop supplies. Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules. Assist with facility renovations, expansions, and general building upkeep projects. Provide training and work direction to other maintenance team members as needed. Identify opportunities for process improvements and equipment reliability enhancements. Maintain compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
