MEP Inspector – Bronx, NY Location: Bronx, NY Position: MEP Inspector Project Type: Large-Scale Public Construction Project Pay Rate: $65-80/hr pending experience Laland Baptiste, LLC is a construction management and consulting firm. Our clients include the NYS Office of General Services, Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, NYC Health + Hospitals, NYC Department of Design and Construction, NYC Parks & Recreation, NYC School Construction Authority, NYC Economic Development Corporation, Battery Park City Authority, and NYS Parks, Recreations and Historic Laland Baptiste, LLC is seeking an experienced MEP Inspector to support a large-scale public construction project in the Bronx. The ideal candidate will have hands-on field inspection experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems on major building construction projects. Responsibilities Perform daily field inspections of MEP installations to verify compliance with contract drawings, specifications, codes, and project requirements. Inspect mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection work throughout construction. Monitor contractor activities and identify deficiencies or non-conforming work. Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and approved shop drawings as they relate to field installations. Prepare detailed daily inspection reports, photographs, and documentation of work in progress. Coordinate with contractors, engineers, construction management staff, and other field inspectors. Monitor testing, commissioning, equipment installation, and system start-up activities as required. Assist with punch lists, corrective work, and project closeout. Qualifications 7-10 years of MEP construction inspection or related field experiencepreferred. Experience with large commercial, institutional, government, or public-sector construction projects. Strong knowledge of MEP systems, construction drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes. Previous experience working onNYC agency or other public-sector projectsis highly preferred. Strong written communication and field reporting skills. Ability to work onsite in the Bronx and coordinate effectively with multiple trades and project stakeholders.
