Summary

Capstone IT is helping our client find a Senior Business Systems Analyst who will serve as the functional and technical expert supporting enterprise financial and operational business applications. This person will manage business rules, analyze business processes, lead system enhancements, oversee projects, develop reporting solutions, and act as the primary liaison between IT and Finance/Operations teams. The role focuses heavily on Oracle E-Business Suite and related financial applications while driving continuous process improvements and supporting business-critical systems.

Responsibilities

ERP & Application Support

• Support Oracle E-Business Suite applications including:
• General Ledger
• Accounts Receivable
• Purchasing
• Inventory
• iExpense
• iProcurement (iPro)
• Support PowerPlant Applications Suite
• Support UIPlanner budgeting and forecasting applications
• Support Business Objects reporting and Finance Data Warehouse
• Troubleshoot complex application and business process issues

Business Analysis

• Analyze existing business processes and recommend technology improvements
• Gather business requirements
• Create functional specifications and process documentation
• Lead process redesign and system improvements
• Prioritize enhancement requests with business users

Project Leadership

• Manage application implementation and enhancement projects
• Define project scope, schedule, resources, and budgets
• Coordinate technical and business teams
• Ensure successful delivery of technology solutions

Reporting & Analytics

• Develop custom reporting solutions
• Support financial reporting and budgeting
• Improve reporting capabilities across supported applications

Leadership & Collaboration

• Serve as the primary liaison between IT and Finance/Business teams
• Lead user groups and stakeholder meetings
• Provide technical and functional guidance to team members
• Assist with project planning and technology roadmaps

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years supporting ERP applications, systems analysis, project management, or systems implementation
• Experience with enterprise financial ERP systems
• Strong business process analysis skills
• Experience leading technology projects
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

1. Role Context - This Company

This role functions as the primary business technology partner supporting the company's Finance and Operations organizations. Rather than focusing on software development, the position owns the functional success of several enterprise applications that manage accounting, budgeting, purchasing, inventory, capital projects, forecasting, and financial reporting.

The individual is expected to understand both the technical capabilities of Oracle E-Business Suite and the underlying accounting and operational processes used by the business. They will evaluate enhancement requests, lead application improvement projects, coordinate with technical teams, and ensure that enterprise systems continue to meet evolving business needs.

Because the organization also utilizes specialized utility industry applications such as PowerPlant and UIPlanner, this role supports budgeting, capital planning, asset accounting, and property tax functions that are essential to utility operations.

Success is measured by system reliability, successful project delivery, improved business processes, strong stakeholder relationships, and effective support of Finance and Operations teams.
