The Ballpark at League City is a premier recreational facility offering a diverse range of activities for youth and adults. Our facility boasts bat and ball turf fields, indoor arenas for soccer and flag football, sand volleyball courts, and a vibrant atmosphere with two restaurants serving a full menu and alcohol beverages. In addition to sport events, the facility also hosts special events, private gatherings, and provides a hub for community engagement and active lifestyles. As a Cook in the Food and Beverage department, you are responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of foods that require only a short preparation time.

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

• Perform food preparation and cook items that usually require short preparation time.
• Follow safe handling standards for stocking, rotating, and storing products for consumption, which includes pulling expired products from inventory.
• Follow all safety and health policies and procedures such as the use of protective equipment, proper refrigeration, and food handling.
• Operate work related machines, tools, and equipment such as grills, fryers, etc.
• Clean food preparation equipment, work areas, and counters or tables. Perform general cleaning activities in kitchen and dining areas.
• Complete opening and closing restaurant duties in accordance with policy and procedures.
• Performs related work as required.

Education, Certification, License and Experience

• High school diploma or GED, or currently attending high school
• Valid Texas Food Handlers certification

Other Qualifications or Requirements

• Flexible schedule to work evenings and weekends.

Knowledge:

• City policies and procedures
• Knowledge of food and beverage operations, and inventory management.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations, and sanitation guidelines.

Part Time employees are not eligible for employer paid benefits or vacation. Part Time employees are eligible for 4 hours of holiday pay.
