Overview:

Join a dedicated healthcare team as an Advanced Telemetry Monitor Technician, responsible for continuous cardiac rhythm observation and timely communication of critical alerts. This part-time night role offers the opportunity to contribute to patient safety and care efficiency within a vibrant regional healthcare network in the Southeastern United States.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor cardiac rhythms using telemetry consoles with precision and vigilance.
• Promptly alert nursing staff to any alarms or significant rhythm changes.
• Notify nursing assistants or qualified personnel regarding equipment or reception alarms such as "leads off" or "low battery."
• Print and document strip assessments every four hours, upon patient admission, during codes, on request, and as rhythms or rates change.
• Demonstrate commitment to patient satisfaction, efficient patient flow, and overall hospital functionality.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the telemetry and nursing teams.

Education and Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• EKG certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Healthcare experience such as Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Medical Technician is advantageous.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
• All new hires must complete a Dysrhythmia class and pass the associated test within 60 days, unless exempted by prior certification or experience.
• Ongoing competency is maintained through biannual advanced dysrhythmia testing.

Experience and Skills:

• Previous experience as a monitor technician is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to remain calm and focused during emergency situations.

Physical Requirements:

• Good speech and hearing acuity for clear communication.
• Sharp visual acuity for patient observation and monitor assessment.
• Capability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Potential exposure to blood or infectious materials requiring adherence to safety protocols.
