We are looking for 1 individual to share an apartment with a team member or a team of 2 people to share the two bedroom apartment.  

This position usually works well for those in college as rent is share between two people and they are allowed to sleep when they are on duty, however they need to be able to awaken with an alarm or phone call to attend to building emergencies.

The bulk of the Night Monitor's (NM) shift are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am on weekdays and 10:00 pm to 9:00 am on Friday and Saturday nights.  They are also required to work a day shift in the office on the weekends they are on duty.  The costs of the apartment is deducted from the gross pay of hours worked.  Anything over and above is paid out to the employee biweekly.  

NM’s are considered full time and are eligible for Medical and Dental coverage in addition to other ancillary insurances.  They do not get Holidays off. NM's accrue 40 hours of paid time off every six months.  It can be used however they wish, but when an RM is not working, they are still responsible for the apartment allowance.  

NM’s must pay a security deposit and if they have a pet, a pet deposit will be required as well.

This is not a job that is self-sustaining.  NM's are responsible for paying their electric, phone, tv or cable, and wi-fi. Water and trash are covered by PCH.  Most people use this job as a way to have their own apartment and not have to pay a full rent fee.  They also usually have other income or additional employment to cover living expenses like food, automotive costs, insurance, phone, etc.  

When PCH is short Part Timers, Night Monitors are asked to step in and help cover.  

Qualified Applicants must have the following skills:

·       Must be of legal working age.    

·       Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language.  

·       Must enjoy working with elderly and physically disabled persons.  

·       Must be punctual and dependable.

·       Must act and present self in a mature, courteous and professional manner at all times while working or representing the organization in the community.

·       Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies as needed when on duty. 

·       Must demonstrate patience, tolerance, understanding and a positive attitude.

·       Knowledge of Fair Housing Issues, or willingness to learn and implement. 

·       Must abide by all Plano Community Homes Employee Policies, House Rules, Apartment Lease, and other appropriate rules and regulations.     

·       Ability to perform heavy lifting duties which may include lifting up to 40 lbs., prolonged sitting, repeated bending, squatting and stooping, standing and pushing/pulling movements.
