Job Summary

The Production Technician plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing and packaging operations in a controlled production environment. This position is responsible for accurately measuring, mixing, filling, sealing, and inspecting products while operating production equipment and maintaining strict quality, safety, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to producing high-quality products that meet precise specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately weigh, measure, and dispense products into bottles, containers, pouches, or other packaging formats according to established specifications.

• Set up, operate, monitor, and make minor adjustments to filling, packaging, and sealing equipment to maintain efficient production.

• Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards, including product weight, fill levels, seal integrity, labeling accuracy, and overall appearance.

• Perform routine equipment cleaning, sanitization, inspections, and minor troubleshooting to support safe and reliable operations.

• Load production materials, including containers, caps, lids, labels, and packaging components, into machinery safely and efficiently.

• Identify and remove nonconforming or defective products from the production line and communicate recurring issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel.

• Sort, stage, and prepare ingredients and materials for production, filling, mixing, and packaging processes.

• Mix ingredients according to established recipes, formulations, and work instructions while maintaining accuracy and cleanliness.

• Accurately record production information such as batch numbers, production quantities, quality checks, downtime, and process deviations.

• Follow all company safety protocols, GMP requirements, sanitation procedures, and quality standards.

• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary formulas, recipes, manufacturing processes, and company information.

• Support continuous improvement efforts and contribute to maintaining an organized and efficient production environment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, production, packaging, or processing environment.

• Experience working on production lines, including filling, packaging, sealing, or assembly operations.

• Familiarity with operating production equipment and safely loading materials into machinery.

• Experience using filling machines, sealing equipment, or similar manufacturing systems.

• Ability to accurately weigh products and ingredients, including measurements to the milligram (mg) level.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.

• Knowledge of GMP standards and general manufacturing safety practices.

• Ability to perform routine equipment cleaning, sanitization, inspections, and basic operational adjustments.

• Experience accurately documenting production data and quality control information.

• Ability to work 8-10 hour shifts and support a flexible production schedule.

• Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all facility policies, including a smoke-free workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food, dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or chemical manufacturing environments.

• Experience mixing ingredients and working from detailed formulations or recipes.

• Familiarity with precision weighing and measuring equipment.

• Ability to identify production issues and effectively communicate concerns to leadership or maintenance teams.

• Strong organizational and material handling skills.

• Ability to work in a bilingual environment; Spanish language skills are a plus.

• Comfortable working in a highly regulated production environment with strict quality and confidentiality requirements.

• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Work Environment & Schedule

Work is performed in a highly controlled manufacturing facility dedicated to maintaining product quality and employee comfort. Production areas are climate- and humidity-controlled, and team members are required to wear PPE, including hair nets, gloves, coats, and booties.

Employees work with dietary supplements and proprietary formulations and must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to protect confidential company information and manufacturing processes.

The facility operates on rotating front-half and back-half schedules:

• Front Half: Sunday through Wednesday

• Back Half: Wednesday through Saturday

Team members must be available to work 8-10 hour shifts scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. based on production needs and assigned team schedules.

This position requires standing for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and working safely around filling, packaging, and sealing equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buda, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
