Manager, Lean

Job Summary A leader in technology and innovation, Southwire Company, LLC is one of North America’s largest wire and cable producers. The company manufactures building wire and cable, utility products, metal‑clad cable, portable and electronic cord products, OEM wire products and engineered products. Key Responsibilities Document and work with site controller to validate achieved Lean savings. Make recommendations on designing new procedures and methods for operational processes and collaborate with various departments. Utilize project charters to work with site leaders to identify, modify, and sustain desired changes that reduce waste and improve efficiencies. Lead projects and initiatives from idea generation to strategic execution, providing strategic insight and evaluation of organizational progression. Act as a mentor for Continuous Improvement leadership, supervisory staff and frontline personnel. Develop and influence strategy, planning and execution depending on project or initiative needs. Lead goal setting, assign projects, review progress, approve and provide feedback for the site. Set KPI goals with the site via semi‑annual business assessment, report and lead site reporting for KPIs; provide monthly updates on CI resource and engagement activities. Serve as a change agent, challenging organizational leaders to drive continuous improvements and remove barriers. Develop, implement and monitor site Lean training initiatives. Required Education & Experience Minimum Education Level: Bachelor’s Specialized Degree: Engineering preferred; Lean/Continuous Improvement Certificates: Six Sigma Green Belt Years of Experience: 5+ Preferred Education & Experience 4-8 years of successful leadership in executing continuous improvement/Lean/Six Sigma efforts with measurable financial benefit. Lean Master or Master Six Sigma Black Belt certification or equivalent. Prior leadership or management experience required. Demonstrated experience in removing obstacles and leading change. Experience guiding team progress for continuous improvement projects/programs. Experience designing, implementing and leading continuous improvement projects/programs. Thorough understanding of cycle time reduction, waste reduction, yield improvement, productivity and throughput improvement. Hands‑on experience using operational excellence and continuous improvement methods (LEAN, TPM, Six Sigma). Proven leadership skills to coach and lead teams to deliver chartered objectives and projects. Excellent project management skills. Self‑starter with excellent organizational skills to handle multiple tasks concurrently. Ability to coach, mentor and inspire direct reports. Advanced problem‑solving capabilities, attention to detail and numerical aptitude.
