Learn more about THAAD.As a Systems Engineer - Model & Simulation for THAAD Missile, you will directly help establish the technical solution for one of our country's most vital and complex missile systems. THAAD provides mobile and deployable ground-based missile defense as part of the Ballistic Missile Defense System.You will work closely with a team of top technical talent from across the program to provide the best, integrated solution that meets overall performance, cost, and schedule needs. In this role you will:Utilize computer models and simulations to predict performance, conduct trade studies, and allocate performance requirements across the THAAD technical domains to optimize system designUse programming skills to develop and maintain the THAAD interceptor flight simulation softwareApply systems engineering techniques to monitor subsystem development and ensure THAAD interceptor performance requirements are metIntegrate lower level (e.g. subsystem) models and test results into the system model to allow for a comprehensive and integrated perspective of system performanceUse your excellent communication skills to work across the Lockheed Martin organization and customer/user community to build technical consensusPerforms technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.Basic QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related fieldFamiliarity or working experience with systems analysis functions, such as:a.) System trade studiesb.) Requirements decompositionc.) System architecture designd.)
