Overview Job Title: Aerospace Machinist Lead Location: Arnold AFB, TN Function/Branch: O&M/Hypersonic (ARCS) Directorate: Test Operations Position Type: Regular Full-Time Pay Type: Wage Grade: A24 Starting Hourly Rate: $40.37 - $44.86 Beyond New Horizons LLC (BNH) offers an exciting opportunity for an Aerospace Machinist Lead to support TOS II at Arnold AFB, Tennessee. The candidate will be a member of an integrated team responsible for operating, maintaining, or supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts. Open to internal candidates only. The selected candidate must be available for any shift, with shifts determined by work priority at the time of assignment. Job Summary The successful candidate will lead lower‑grade craftsmen under general supervision, directing and performing a broad range of technical, mechanical, electrical, and manual work in engineering test facilities. Job Duties Prepare test facility equipment for operations. Prepare test articles for testing. Install, verify, and test assemblies and installations. Troubleshoot equipment, test articles, and installations. Operate plant and test equipment during tests. Assist in tests and operate control systems for engines and rockets; remove test articles afterward. Install and maintain facility systems; perform maintenance and servicing work required to keep test facility equipment operational. Use a variety of hand and machine tools, powered equipment, measuring, and testing equipment. Instruct lower‑level craftsmen. Perform other duties as required. Wear PPE as directed by supervisors and company policy. Available to work different shifts and schedules. Basic Qualifications Six years of machinist experience in the working section of an aeronautical test facility; equivalent experience as an aerospace machinist, machinist, millwright, aircraft mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic may be substituted. Proficient in operating hand and machine tools associated with the trade. Able to direct the work of lower‑grade craftsmen. Must obtain and maintain security clearance and AEDC local area network access. Current U.S. citizenship required. Proficient reading, writing, and speaking in English for clear communication.
