Unit Clerk- FT- Days- DHR Radiology

Job Overview Location: US:TX:Edinburg – Women’s Health. Position: Full Time. Summary Under the supervision of a registered nurse, this position performs a variety of clerical and receptionist duties for an assigned nursing unit, including transcribing physicians’ orders, maintaining patient charts, managing unit supplies, and scheduling interventional radiology procedures. Responsibilities Promote the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Consider the mission, vision and values when developing services, standards and practices. Perform clerical duties as assigned by nursing staff, physicians or management. Transcribe physicians’ orders and maintain chart records and other files. Answer phones and route calls to the appropriate parties. Use resources efficiently and cost‑effectively. Maintain and promote a team spirit through active cooperation and collaboration. Order and stock necessary supplies. Maintain knowledge of and conform to hospital policy and procedures. Schedule interventional radiology procedures. Process charges for interventional radiology procedures. Communicate pre‑procedure instructions to patients. Obtain medical release forms. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education / Qualifications High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. Organizational skills are necessary. Good written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to read, write and speak English; Spanish preferred. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians. Hospital experience preferred. Job Knowledge / Experience Knowledge of medical terminology required. Proficient organizational and computer skills. At least one year of hospital experience preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of proper telephone etiquette, and strong typing skills highly desired. #J-18808-Ljbffr
