Bachelor Graduate Assistant I (2026-2027 Aid Year-through 6.30.27)

Position Details Department: Academic Affairs – Academic Success Employment type: Part‑time (temporary), Remote Compensation: $18.00 per hour Appointment: Through June2027, renewable for the 2027‑2028 aid year if FWS‑eligible Job Description Provide peer academic or co‑curricular support to enhance learner experience; responsibilities may include being a peer‑led community ambassador, monitoring social/academic community platforms and discussion boards, or providing general administrative support for learner initiatives. Build an online community conducive to continuous improvement in a positive, learner‑focused environment. Engage learners through various support models to assist them with course content and build competency in course objectives. Act as a proactive champion in fostering learner development, enabling confident independent learning of course material. Be familiar with and comfortable using Capella resources. Contribute positively to the Graduate Assistant team by attending and participating in team meetings. Communicate in a timely and professional manner with supervising staff, faculty, learners, and other key constituents. Work 10–12 hours per week, primarily nights and weekends; occasional availability during regular business hours for training and weekly team meetings is required. Maintain a highly productive and professional remote work environment. Eligibility & Qualifications Completed the 2026‑2027 FAFSA. Successfully completed at least 2 quarters at Capella University. Continuously enrolled in a credit‑bearing course within a bachelor’s program during appointment. Maintain good academic standing while in the role. Essential Skills Interest or experience with teaching or tutoring. Strong organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to interact effectively with faculty, coaches, and learners. Effective time management. Excellent relationship‑building, customer service, and problem–resolution skills. Strong attention to detail, initiative and follow‑through. Ability to remain calm under pressure. Expertise in chosen content area. Creatively demonstrate study strategies using diverse learning strategies. Insight into necessary study skills and habits of successful students. Experience working with diverse learning styles. Confidence and self‑awareness. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Comfortable using technology to facilitate learning and learning new technologies. Hardware & Software Requirements Minimum hardware, internet, and phone requirements are consistent with learner computer compatibilities. Travel & Scheduling Must be able to travel occasionally for business needs. Working on nights and weekends is primary, with the possibility of working more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant. Travel requirements are minimal and reasonable accommodations will be provided.
