Driver - Participant Care

InnovAge Driver – Participant Care provides transportation for frail and elderly participants from their homes to Day Centers, appointments, and field trips. The driver also delivers in-home meals and supplies, picks up medications, and performs pre‑ and post‑trip inspections. Physical attendance at an InnovAge facility and/or a participant home is essential. The schedule is Monday through Friday with some Saturday and holiday operations on a rotating basis. Essential Functions and Work Responsibilities Drive InnovAge vehicles safely, using defensive driving skills and following company policies and assigned routes. Load and unload participants and assist them in and out of vehicles and homes, adhering to policies. Transport participants to all pre‑arranged appointments. Deliver in‑home meals, supplies, and medications, ensuring correct parcels reach the correct participants. Assist participants in and out of homes, including helping with outerwear and clearing walking paths. Keep Dispatch updated on all route events. Maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness; coordinate maintenance with the Manager of Transportation. Assist other drivers with loading/unloading participants arriving or exiting the center. Participate in interdisciplinary team plans of care for InnovAge PACE program participants. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities. Required Previous DOT and defensive driving experience. One year of experience working with frail or elderly individuals. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience of one year or more in related duties. Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds. Licensure Requirements By State California (San Bernardino and Sacramento Centers): Valid state‑issued Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger endorsement (Class A accepted), good driving record, at least 21 years old. California (Los Angeles), Colorado, Florida, New Mexico, Pennsylvania & Virginia: Valid state_driver’s license, good driving record, at least 21 years old. Maintaining a valid state‑issued medical examiner’s certificate when required by applicable state law. Preferred Knowledge of how to use and maintain vehicle equipment. Experience transporting the elderly. Six months experience transporting individuals with special mobility needs.
