Registered Nurse - Surgical Unit

Schedule

This position requires 3 × 12-hour shifts on the AM schedule (07:00 – 19:30), totaling 36 hours per week. Every other weekend is expected, along with one evening shift on major holidays.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will be assigned to a 20-bed surgical unit, primarily serving post-operative patients, including those recovering from orthopedic, gynecological, urological, and general surgeries. The RN will be responsible for assessing, implementing, and evaluating patient care under the direction of licensed physicians, ensuring high standards of nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient needs and collaborates with healthcare team members to individualize care.
• Implements and evaluates nursing care plans based on established protocols.
• Directs nursing support staff in providing quality care to patients.
• Participates in patient education and family support efforts.
• Floats to other units based on staffing needs as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• 1 year of experience in a clinical specialty, preferably in surgical nursing.
• PA Registered Nurse License required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Multi-State Compact RN License required.
