Program Support Specialist

The Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy Office works to unleash the full potential of America's hydrocarbon, geothermal, and critical mineral resources to provide affordable, reliable, and secure energy.

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-11. Since you are being selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As a Program Support Specialist, you will:

• Plan and execute day-to-day administrative and logistical functions for a portfolio of workforce development initiatives, including internships, fellowships, and training programs.
• Collect, verify, maintain, and analyze program data in database tracking systems to evaluate performance outcomes and generate reliable reports for leadership decision-making.
• Assist with providing detailed program guidance to participants, mentors, and educational partners, as well as resolving routine operational problems.
• Offer recommendations for improvement to administrative policies, operational procedures, and overall program efficiency.
• Contribute to the development and dissemination of promotional materials, communications, and outreach efforts to support talent pipeline and educational initiatives.
