About the Position

Job Title: RN - Orthopedic Surgery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Minimum 1 year current orthopedic RN or medical/surgical experience in an acute care setting Description: Travel position for an RN specializing in orthopedic surgery. Responsibilities include supporting patient care in an orthopedic surgery unit. The unit features a total of 36 beds with a staffing of 27. Staffing comprises a charge RN during the day shift, RNs to volume, 1-2 techs, and 1 secretary. Night shift consists of a charge RN, RNs to volume, and 1-2 techs. Patient ratios are 5:1 for RNs and 8-12 patients per tech. Equipment used includes immobilizers, braces, and cold treatment systems. The EMR system utilized is Meditech. Preferred candidates will have orthopedics and spine experience and ACLS certification. Typical procedures performed include total joints (knee, hip, shoulder) and spine surgery.
