Director of Nursing

Lutheran Village at Miller's Grant is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to oversee our 12-bed Skilled Nursing Facility and 20-suite Assisted Living community in Ellicott City, Maryland.

This role reports directly to the Associate Executive Director and serves as the clinical leader for our nursing team while also functioning as the Case Manager, Delegating Nurse, and MDS Nurse.

You'll join a 5-Star CMS-rated Skilled Nursing Facility that has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report for Short-Term Rehabilitation and is preparing for future expansion of its healthcare services.

Before applying, please consider the following requirements:

• Active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Recent Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, or Nurse Manager experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care setting
• Strong working knowledge of CMS, state survey, MDS, and long-term care regulations
• Minimum 3 years of nursing leadership experience
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Long-Term Care environment
• CPR certification

As Director of Nursing, you will:

• Lead all clinical operations for Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and CMS regulations
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, hiring, coaching, and performance management
• Serve as the clinical leader for nurses and interdisciplinary care teams
• Oversee MDS, care planning, resident assessments, and clinical documentation
• Prepare for state surveys and regulatory audits
• Drive quality assurance, infection prevention, and resident safety initiatives
• Partner with physicians, families, and leadership to deliver exceptional resident care
• Manage departmental budgets, supplies, and clinical resources
• Support staff education, onboarding, and professional development

Qualifications

What you will need as a LVMG Director of Nursing:

Required

• Current Maryland RN license
• CPR certification
• Minimum 3 years of nursing leadership experience
• Minimum 2 years of Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care clinical experience
• Demonstrated experience leading teams in a Skilled Nursing Facility
• Knowledge of MDS, survey readiness, infection prevention, and long-term care regulations

Preferred

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
• Experience serving as a Case Manager, Delegating Nurse, or MDS Coordinator
