Customer Service Representative (Bilingual)

Join our team of dedicated professionals in providing comprehensive care and quality customer service to our community. Job Summary We are searching for our next SUPER STAR . As the Customer Service Representative (CSR) you will serve as the primary source of contact for patients at CentroMed clinic and are responsible for welcoming patients into the system and ensuring they have positive experiences. The CSR handles registration and processing of all patients/families requesting health care, social services and counseling. He/she coordinates encounter data entry to meet program and agency deadlines and conducts and records patient financial reviews, billing, collections and data summaries relevant to the agency’s annual UDS report and Compliance & Quality Improvement activities. Benefits start after 30 days Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrate proficiency in establishing and updating accounts in the computer system. Enter charges for self‑pay, insurance and eligibility programs; reconcile charges at the end of each day and maintain accurate daily balance sheets. Determine patient eligibility for special programs (e.g., Methodist Healthcare Ministries, TMHP, Availity). Assist patients and visitors; answer telephones. Understand insurance plans and eligibility programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, CHIP, Methodist Homeless. Schedule patient appointments according to established protocols. Maintain 100% productivity rate and provide accurate encounter entries, logs, referrals, outreach paperwork, and annual updates of household financial and demographic information. Perform intake interviews on all new patients using a standard registration form and confirm homelessness; update registration forms periodically. Assemble necessary medical/dental record forms for specific patient categories and initiate encounter forms. Follow up on no‑shows as directed by Provider. Maintain professional appearance in uniform, nametag and comply with CentroMed appearance guidelines. Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality. Assist clinical teams in patient assessment and notify clinicians in emergencies. Abide by policies and procedures in the Employee Safety Handbook and maintain OSHA & JCAHO compliance. Participate in the agency’s Quality Improvement Program. Assist with outreach activities and other duties as assigned by the Director or Supervisor. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. General experience working in a health care setting; experience with medical data entry preferred. Strong clerical skills including keyboarding and basic math. Computer knowledge and use of calculators. Meticulous attention to detail, mental ability to conduct interviews, reconcile encounter reports and conduct audits. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
