Sr. Director, Alliance Management (Somerville)

About This Role:As the Sr Director of Alliance Management, you will play a crucial role in establishing and nurturing relationships with Biogen’s partners. This position offers exposure to a diverse array of cross-functional colleagues within Biogen, requiring you to collaborate effectively with both internal stakeholders and external partners. You will be accountable for managing highly complex alliances throughout their lifecycle, driving joint governance, and ensuring successful partnership outcomes. Your responsibilities will include proactively identifying and resolving conflicts, designing alliances, and leading contract development in collaboration with Business Development. Operating with an entrepreneurial spirit and a sense of urgency, you will positively influence Biogen’s ability to deliver groundbreaking medicines to individuals around the world who are affected by challenging diseases. In this role, you will guide the organization on best practices for executing alliances at a world-class level and fit seamlessly into the overall business structure.What You’ll Do:Drive alliance design and strategy for post-deal readiness activities, establishing guiding principles, governance structure, and alliance score cards.Act as the expert on alliance contracts, developing and amending contracts in collaboration with Business Development, and manage non-financial amendments.Oversee alliance governance, including partner alignment, internal preparation, and tracking outcomes, managing stakeholder relationships at the executive level.Build expertise in partner capabilities, culture, deal structure, and derisking strategies, while representing the alliance's voice with stakeholders.Use alliance reporting and health monitoring to inform and adjust alliance strategy.Train multidisciplinary teams on alliance value drivers.Guide on tools and best practices for best-in-class alliance execution and deliver partnering and cultural sensitivity training.Facilitate functional learnings across alliances.Who You Are:You are a self-motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
