About the Role
The Company is in search of an Associate Vice President for Accounting Policy to take on a leadership role in the interpretation and implementation of U.S. GAAP and statutory accounting standards, specifically in relation to insurance liabilities, reserves, and other balance sheet obligations. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a strong background in insurance accounting, capable of guiding policy development and providing expert advice on the implications of changing regulatory and industry standards. The role also involves providing technical accounting support for acquisitions and reinsurance transactions. A CPA with experience in either public accounting or a combination of public and private sector is well-suited for this position.
Responsibilities for the Associate Vice President, Accounting Policy include ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, leading the development of accounting policies, and providing strategic guidance on complex accounting issues. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining the company's strong market presence and supporting its measured, predictable growth. A deep understanding of the insurance industry and its specific accounting requirements is essential, as is the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to address and resolve accounting matters.
