RN - PCU

Registered NurseThis position is for a Registered Nurse in a Med Surg/Progressive Care setting. The unit consists of 18 beds with 6 PCU-capable beds, all in private rooms. The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4 for Med Surg and 1:3 for stepdown. Support staff includes telemetry technicians, charge nurses, healthcare unit coordinators, and patient care technicians. Charge nurses are present 24/7 and will take on 0-2 patients as needed. Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care. The facility employs Phillips monitors, and nurses are responsible for validating monitor technician interpretations and documenting their findings frequently. Respiratory therapists and pharmacy services are available 24/7. CPAP and high-flow oxygen are provided for patients requiring respiratory support. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Floating to all Med Surg units may occur.
