Receiving Inspector

The Receiving Inspector checks incoming materials, parts, and assemblies to make sure they meet company and customer quality standards before they are used in production. This includes reviewing documentation, performing visual and dimensional inspections, and recording results in the quality system.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials, fabricated parts, and electrical assemblies for quality and compliance.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements.
• Inspect wire harnesses and electrical assemblies using IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
• Review supplier certifications, test reports, and material traceability records.
• Identify and document nonconforming materials and create Nonconformance Reports (NCRs).
• Track NCRs and support Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
• Work with suppliers and Purchasing on corrective actions to address quality issues.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and traceability documentation.
• Support internal and supplier audits.
• Assist with root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts.
• Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Enter inspection data into ERP and quality management systems.
• Follow safety procedures and ISO 9001 quality requirements.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Coming from Aerospace/Automotive industry preferred.
• 3–5 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and applying GD&T.
• Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards for cable and harness inspections.
• Experience with NCRs, MRBs, and supplier corrective actions.
• Familiarity with ERP or Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Skilled in using precision measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification.
• Experience inspecting weldments, machined parts, or electrical harnesses.
• Knowledge of AWS welding standards.
• Additional experience in quality control and quality assurance processes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverside, CA.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.
