Global-SE&V Systems Engineer

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado (Onsite)

Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Secret clearance as a condition and continuation of employment.

Role Overview

This position will perform duties concentrating on early-phase activities of the Systems-Engineering Development Lifecycle. The role involves leading the development of new system concepts by transforming stakeholder needs into reviewable technical approaches. The successful candidate will work as a member of an Agile Scrum team in a professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of new system concepts by transforming stakeholder needs into technical approaches.
• Perform requirements elicitation and decomposition using behavioral artifacts like use cases, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams.
• Lead the development of physical and logical system models using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches and tools.
• Lead system interface development, as captured in Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Design Descriptions (IDDs).
• Support formal and informal engineering technical reviews.
• Create, review, and critique interface documents, system requirements, verification documentation, architectural documentation, and engineering estimates.
• Interface with key stakeholders, including customers and working-level counterparts.
• Participate in Agile development planning and execution, including iteration planning and status reporting.

Required Qualifications

Education: An advanced degree with 3+ years of experience or a bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or equivalent.

Experience: Must have wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in the field and provide solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. The candidate must have Systems Engineering/Architecture with Test Experience.

Technical Skills: Experience with MBSE approaches and tools (e.g., Cameo, SysMOD, OOSEM). Familiarity with RBAC, Java, or Groovy is also required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems engineers.
• Experience regularly interacting with customers for elicitation of needs and requirements.
• Experience with one or more elements of the Missile Defense System.
• Experience with elements involved in Space Defense, Space Domain Awareness, or other Space Missions.
• Experience with complex Command and Control Systems.
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical content.
• Ability to support urgent tasks without a loss of efficiency.
