Procurement Manager

This is a strategic role within operations, where you will be responsible for optimizing procurement costs, developing supplier relationships, and negotiating the best terms for components and raw materials. You will collaborate closely with R&D, Logistics, Planning, and Operations teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers on an international scale.

Negotiate prices and purchasing terms for strategic electronic and mechanical components.

Analyze and optimize costs for components, raw materials, and products.

Develop and track supplier performance indicators (KPIs).

Optimize procurement processes and the procure-to-pay cycle.

Develop sourcing strategies aimed at optimizing costs and inventory levels.

Approve purchase order prices and ensure compliance with negotiated costs.

Identify cost and supply-related risks and implement solutions.

Evaluate the performance of suppliers and contract manufacturers.

Participate in preparing operational budgets and evaluating the cost of goods sold.

Manage, mentor, and supervise the purchasing team.

Participate in the recruitment, performance evaluation, and professional development of team members.

Ensure adherence to the department budget.

Develop and maintain procedures and processes related to procurement activities.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience. Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management.

Experience in the electronics industry is an asset.

Strong negotiation and analytical skills.

Excellent planning and organizational skills.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Bilingual (French and English), both spoken and written.

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

Knowledge of an ERP system (specifically Great Plains) is an asset.

Availability for occasional travel.
