Compensation: Competitive Salary $165-225K includes Meaningful Equity + Performance Bonuses

BuyWander is rebuilding the $850B retail returns industry from the ground up.

We take returned goods—millions of items that would otherwise sit, stagnate, or go to waste—and turn them into opportunities through AI-powered local auctions .

We’re hiring our first Head of Marketing .

This is a rare opportunity to:

• Build a brand from zero to everywhere

• Own growth across every channel

You’ll build it. You’ll test, break, rebuild—and then scale what works.

Brand (make BuyWander unforgettable):

• Define and evolve our voice, story, and positioning

• Turn “returns” into something people are excited about

• Build a brand people talk about , not just see

Growth (drive real results):

• Own customer acquisition across all channels (paid, organic, partnerships, local)

• Build a data-driven growth engine —not guesswork

• Obsess over CAC, LTV, conversion, and retention

Demand Generation (online + local):

• Drive traffic and participation in our auctions

• Create local market playbooks that scale nationally

• Launch bold, creative campaigns that actually convert

Experimentation (this is where the magic happens):

• Run constant tests across channels, messaging, and audiences

• Operate like a marketing lab —fast cycles, fast learnings

• Break conventional playbooks and find asymmetric wins

AI-Powered Marketing:

• Leverage AI tools to 10x output and insight

• Automate workflows, content generation, and analysis

• Build systems where AI + human creativity = unfair advantage

Systems & Scale:

• Build the marketing engine (tools, dashboards, attribution)

• Create feedback loops between data to insight to action

• Eventually build and lead a high-performance team

Most Head of Marketing roles:

You’ll work directly with founders to shape how BuyWander wins.

• 5–10+ years in marketing, owning growth, performance, or brand

• Proven track record of driving measurable, repeatable growth

• Strong analytical mindset—you think in funnels, cohorts, and experiments

• Experience using data to make decisions (not just reporting it)

• Hands-on experience with modern marketing tools + AI workflows

• Comfort operating in ambiguity with speed and ownership

• Experience in marketplaces, auctions, resale, or eCommerce

• Built or scaled growth engines from 0 to 1

• Deep performance marketing + creative testing expertise

• Strong POV on the future of AI in marketing

• Analytical leader: You use data to find leverage and make decisions fast
