Patient Service Representative/Medical Front Desk | Williamsburg, VA | On site
Monday - Friday: 7:30AM - 4:15PM
Pay Rate: $16-$18/hr

MEDTemps is seeking a dependable, proactive Patient Service Representative for a long-term, temp to hire, assignment with a busy medical practice in Williamsburg. You will welcome patients, answer calls, and help keep the front office organized as priorities change throughout the day.
About the practice:
The practice has five providers and sees approximately 80-100 patients daily, including many same-day appointments. Front desk responsibilities are shared. You will work alongside teammates who move between tasks and help wherever attention is needed. If you enjoy helping patients and noticing what needs to happen next, this role could be a good fit.
What you will do as a Patient Service Representative:
- Greet patients and complete patient check-in with a courteous, professional approach.
- Answer incoming calls and assist with front office communication.
- Process incoming faxes and scan documents accurately.
- Provide general clerical support to keep front office work moving.
- Balance patient arrivals, ringing phones, and incoming paperwork as needs change.
- Coordinate with teammates, recognize tasks that need attention, and take initiative to help.

- Consistent attendance, punctuality, and the ability to report reliably to the Williamsburg office.
- Friendly, clear communication and a patient-focused approach.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and sound judgment when priorities compete.
- Comfort moving quickly between tasks in a busy medical office.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to share responsibilities across the front desk team.
- Ability to work independently, ask questions when needed, and follow through on assigned work.
- Previous medical front desk or patient service experience is preferred.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, approximately 7:30 AM-4:00 or 4:15 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Team members rotate lunch breaks to maintain patient coverage. The practice observes normal holidays plus the day after Thanksgiving.
