Role Description The Tax Preparer is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area, with some flexibility for work from home. This role is responsible for preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and small businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws and regulations. Day-to-day tasks include gathering and analyzing client financial information, reviewing supporting documentation, and identifying potential tax savings and planning opportunities. The Tax Preparer will collaborate with financial planners to integrate tax strategies into broader financial plans, respond to client inquiries, and assist in resolving tax notices or issues. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax law changes, documenting work thoroughly, and supporting the continuous improvement of tax preparation processes. Qualifications Strong skills in Tax Preparation and Tax, with experience preparing individual and small business returns. Ability to interpret and apply Tax Law to client situations while ensuring compliance and identifying planning opportunities. Proficiency in working with Financial Statements and related documentation to support accurate tax filings. Foundational knowledge of Finance to integrate tax strategies into broader financial planning objectives. Experience with tax preparation software and common office productivity tools. Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to explain tax concepts to clients in accessible language. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small team environment. Relevant credential such as Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA, or progress toward such certification is preferred.
