Reporting to the Account Director, the Guinness Brewery Ambassador (GBA) is responsible for developing and delivering educations and expanding awareness of the client’s premium beer portfolio within a designated territory.

This position is responsible for collaborating with the ambassador team, developing distributor and customer (trade) relationships, facilitating brand educations and trainings, and mentoring agency field staff. Additionally, the role will collaborate with client stakeholders, including sales, brand, and customer marketing teams.

Job Responsibilities:

• Distributor Engagement. Drive brand presence, education, and training supporting distributor partners within the designated territory
• Customer Engagement. Deliver retailer-focused training, inclusive of brand history, production, taste profiles, draft systems, and beer quality
• Consumer Engagement. Facilitate consumer brand experienced focused on education, as requested by client or agency
• Advocacy. Represent brand(s) at distributor and customer-facing (trade) events or trainings with education, including quality standards and occasional media appearances
• Quality. Own brand quality standards and impart draft systems expertise, including but not limited to hands on draft equipment diagnosis and troubleshooting
• Mentorship. Mentor agency ambassadors and client sales organizations in brand knowledge and quality expertise, instilling and developing a passion for the industry
• Content Development. Collaborate in developing educational and training content in support of internal (agency & client) and external (customer/trade & distributor) audiences
• Cultivate Opportunities. As industry influencers, seek out opportunities within the territories for brand engagement and noted members of industry communities
• Legal & Compliance. Maintain all legal & marketing code guidelines
• Agency Accountabilities. Complete accurate and timely management including:
  • Administrative tasks, budget tracking, and expense management
  • Delivery of individual KPIs and program activities
  • Participation in all internal meetings and training initiatives

• Performance growth (exceeding goals) against designated KPIs
• Delivery of program activities in alignment with client goals
• Strong agency visibility for program team at client and within agency
• High rate of positive feedback from attendees of educational engagements and added value within the designated territory
• Continued expansion of educational knowledge and technical skillsets
• Positive 360º feedback from manager and client partners 

The physical demands of this role require the following:

• Must be able to regularly lift, carry, push, and/or pull items weighing at least 15 pounds and up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks associated with the role, including moving materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods as required by the position.

Qualifications

• College degree (4-year) or B.A./B.S. equivalent with focus on Communications, Marketing or Business
• 7-10 years of experience in the beer, spirits, or hospitality industry
• Established network of industry professionals within the local market preferred
• Experience representing bev-alc brands in a field-based role preferred
• Excellent knowledge of bev-alc laws, regulations, and rules
• Confident and outgoing with excellent personal presentation, communication skills, and the ability to tailor communication for a variety of environments
• Deep understanding of market and industry trends
• Strong budget management and business administration skills
• Must have access to reliable transportation
• Ability to work remotely with flexible hours, including nights and weekends
• Travel requirements estimated at 20% of time
• Manage administrative tasks with attention to meeting agency compliance guidelines and standards

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this job classification is between $100,000.00-$120,000.00 annually. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related skills and qualifications, length of service, brand program, and geographic location. This job classification is bonus-eligible, with bonus potential subject to applicable bonus plan terms and conditions.
