Workers' Compensation Legal Assistant

Goldberg Segalla seeks a highly motivated and organized individual to join its team to provide Workers' Compensationattorneys that have a high volume of work with legal assistantsupport within our Orlando and West Palm Beachlocations.This individual will provide administrative and secretarial support to assigned attorneys and backup coverage to other attorneys as requested. Assist with administrative tasks as it relates to the specific office and attorneys. This position is eligible to be on a hybrid work schedule after on-site training is completed. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Outlook, TEAMS, Calendar, andExcel. Knowledge of legal documents and terminology as it relates to Workers’ Compensation such as subpoenas, Affidavits of Service and Affidavits. Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with firm policies. Assist with filings, appeals, rebuttals, and other various motions. Draft demand letters and pursue discovery from opposing counsel. Draft and complete Affidavit of Service. Manage and calendar placeholders. Save all emails, documents and filings in the document management system. Send out hearing reports, interim reports, and deposition reports. Open and close files in addition to completing information sheets. Coordinate witness prep per business needs. Maintain caseload and/or hearing trackers per business need. Assist with budgets and rejected invoices. Serve surveillance and assist with evidence cover letter. Daily management of attorney’s billable entries as needed. Daily reminder of deadlines. Organize and reassign documents and emails within the case management system. Other assigned duties. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE: Associate'sdegree preferred and 2+ years ofWorkers’Compensation experience preferred, Clear communication and information exchange in English. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to observe and assess data and documents in printed form and on computer screens. Willingness to work beyond normal hours. Team-oriented with the ability to work independently within general guidelines and minimal supervision. Ability to respond and maintain confidentiality of information or adversarial inquiries.
