First Step House is Hiring a Medical Clinic Program Manager!36-hour work week | M-Th schedule | Salt Lake City, Utah$125,000 - $150,000 annuallyAre you a nurse practitioner who wants to combine clinical care with the opportunity to build and lead a growing community-based medical clinic? The Medical Clinic Program Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the First Step House Medical Clinic while providing direct clinical care and leading a team of medical professionals.This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical practice with program leadership. You'll oversee clinic operations, supervise and develop medical staff, provide physical exams and health assessments, prescribe medications, and help ensure patients receive safe, evidence-based care. You'll also work closely with other First Step House departments to coordinate care and make sure medical services are integrated into the larger treatment experience.You'll play an important role in growing and developing the Medical Clinic as well. and life insuranceWhat You'll DoOversee and direct the day-to-day operations of the Medical Clinic.Lead, supervise, train, and develop medical clinic staff.Develop provider and staff schedules to ensure appropriate patient access and clinic coverage.Participate in recruitment, hiring, performance management, and retention of clinic staff.Provide direct clinical care, including physical exams, health assessments, medication management, and prescribing within your scope of practice.Order, administer, and analyze necessary diagnostic testing and monitor patient responses to treatment.Create patient care plans and collaborate with treatment teams to address patients' medical and behavioral health needs.Provide medical guidance and consultation to other First Step House departments as needed.Serve as the Medical Clinic's Laboratory Director and oversee CLIA compliance, laboratory quality control, equipment, and staff training.Ensure the clinic maintains compliance with state licensing and regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards, and HRSA standards for FQHC Look-a-like status.Prepare for and participate in Joint Commission, HRSA, and other medical clinic audits and accreditation activities.Develop, review, and update medical clinic policies and procedures as the clinic grows.Monitor clinic quality, utilization, access, patient experience, and outcome measures and develop improvement plans when needed.Report clinic quality, utilization, and outcome metrics to leadership.Serve as an administrator of the electronic health record and support staff training and standardized documentation.Assess the healthcare needs of the patient population and help expand services based on those needs.Develop and maintain relationships with community and professional partners that support the growth and quality of medical services.Represent First Step House at professional and community events.Develop and manage the annual Medical Clinic budget and monitor operating expenses.Oversee clinic billing practices and work with billing staff and vendors to address reimbursement and claim issues.Monitor provider documentation to support accurate coding and billing.Oversee inventory systems and medical supply ordering.Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient documentation in the electronic health record.Collaborate with supervisors, treatment-team members, community partners, and other providers regarding patient care and clinical needs.Maintain knowledge of applicable legal, ethical, privacy, and clinical requirements, including HIPAA and CFR Part 42.Maintain positive, patient-centered relationships with patients, coworkers, and community partners.Demonstrate an Outward Mindset in daily work and interactions.Required QualificationsMust be State licensed and Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner with NPIHave either an active buprenorphine waiver or a willingness to obtain a waiver upon hireLicensed in the State of Utah to perform all essential duties of this positionKnowledge of Medicaid billing requirements and proceduresA Controlled Substance license and a DEA certification with no disciplinary actionWhat We're Looking ForPrevious experience leading, supervising, or managing medical staff preferred.Experience working in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, community health, or with individuals experiencing complex barriers to healthcare preferred.Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and listening skills.Ability to balance direct patient care with administrative and program leadership responsibilities.Strong understanding of patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based clinical care.Ability to manage confidential and legally sensitive information appropriately.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and community partners.Comfortable identifying opportunities to improve and expand medical services based on patient needs.Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused when handling complex clinical
