Valet Cashier ($17.95/hr) - Marriott Marquis DC

Compensation Hourly base pay range: $17.95 per hour. Work Schedule Open availability; must be able to work weekends. Overview The Valet Cashier is responsible for securing guest vehicle keys, accurately collecting and reconciling revenue, and providing exceptional hospitality services in an attentive and friendly manner. Responsibilities Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients. Practice proper phone etiquette and assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries. Collect and reconcile revenue, furnish receipts, accurately categorize tickets, and complete detailed shift reports following all cash bank procedures. Operate equipment, including register, gate, and credit card machine; obtain information on daily events and rates; identify and collect revenue for overnight vehicles not previously charged. Maintain clean, neat work environment around the cashier booth, parking areas, and trash receptacles. Collect claim checks/tickets from all guests before issuing keys; inspect keys for vehicle location and damage. Produce guest vehicle key inventory for billing purposes and pull keys for pickup order. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen. One to three months of related customer service experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Cashier/cash handling experience preferred. Ability to understand 24‑hour and military time systems and applicable rates. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills with U.S. currency. Effective communication skills for one‑on‑one and small group interactions with guests, clients, and employees. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Work is primarily outdoors for extended periods; may be exposed to extreme heat or cold. Frequent standing, walking, running, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. Requires good vision and the ability to adjust focus. Travel up to 5% of the time may be required.
