Communications Technician

Role Overview This position performs the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of communications voice equipment and systems for the University of Chicago and UChicago Medical Center. The individual will work on projects as requested by management and provide Tier 1 and 2 support. What You Will Do monitoring and diagnosing carrier-related problems installing communications equipment responding to customer questions entering incident and request tickets in the ITSM tool, ServiceNow Why It Might Be a Fit The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and strong customer service skills. Requirements High school diploma or GED Associates degree in electronics or related field Graduate of a technical school Minimum three years of experience troubleshooting and resolving issues with voice communications infrastructure I.B.E.W.
