Founded in 2007, DTI (Diversified Technology, Inc.) is a successful African American owned IT Consulting/Staffing firm based in Chicago's Loop. We focus on providing delivery, staffing, and supported services such as enterprise integration/implementations including, but not limited to, CRM, EAM, ERP, PMO, and QA. We service clients in SLED (state/local gov't & education), financial services, fortune, public utility, as well as regularly partnering with Big 4 SI partners.

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and dependable Network Technician Level 1 to provide hands-on support for field dispatches and on-site network services. This role involves troubleshooting, operating, and maintaining network equipment, performing installs and repairs, and supporting basic network infrastructure tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, the ability to work professionally in client environments, and 2–5 years of relevant experience. Must work on our W2.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, operate, and maintain equipment during field dispatches.
• Perform low-complexity installs, moves, repairs, uninstalls, site surveys, and triage.
• Escort vendors and ensure proper site access and oversight.
• Rack, stack, and cable network equipment (switches, routers, etc.).
• Install, terminate, label, and test cabling related to telecom circuit demarcation extensions.
• Place, connect, and activate telephone devices as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings for equipment placement and cable runs.
• Ensure all work is performed in a professional and customer-focused manner.
• Provide timely updates and documentation of all activities performed.

Qualifications:

• 2–5 years of hands-on experience as a network technician or in a related IT infrastructure role.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to install, swap out, and configure network equipment (routers, switches, cabling).
• Knowledge of telecom and structured cabling standards.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Physical capability to lift and move equipment weighing over 45 lbs.
• Must work on our W2 (no C2C or 1099).

Work Environment:

• Onsite support required in either Chicago, IL or the New York/New Jersey area.
• Field dispatch work with direct client interaction.

Pay rate: $46.42hr
