Founded in 2007, DTI (Diversified Technology, Inc.) is a successful African American owned IT Consulting/Staffing firm based in Chicago's Loop. We focus on providing delivery, staffing, and supported services such as enterprise integration/implementations including, but not limited to, CRM, EAM, ERP, PMO, and QA. We service clients in SLED (state/local gov't & education), financial services, fortune, public utility, as well as regularly partnering with Big 4 SI partners.

Position Overview

The Desktop Technician – Level 2 will install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain desktop and workstation equipment, telephones (standard & VOIP), laptops/desktops (Windows 7, Windows 10, Mac OS), and printers. This role requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, resolve complex technical issues, and provide user support. The ideal candidate will possess manufacturer certifications enabling warranty repairs and ordering of parts. Must work on our W2

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain desktop/workstation hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues escalated beyond Level 1 support.
• Manage equipment moves, adds, and changes with little to no supervision.
• Provide advanced technical support and answer in-depth user questions about system features and functions.
• Perform warranty-certified repairs and order replacement parts as needed.
• Support operating systems including Windows 7, Windows 10, and Mac OS in enterprise environments.
• Maintain documentation of system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
• Assist with small to mid-sized IT projects or deployments as assigned.
• Mentor or guide Level 1 technicians on troubleshooting and best practices.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in desktop/workstation support.
• Proficiency with desktop/laptop imaging, telephony systems (VOIP & standard), and peripheral devices.
• Experience with ticketing systems, remote support tools, and Active Directory.
• Strong troubleshooting, customer service, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Dell, Client, Apple) required for warranty repairs and parts ordering.
• Ability to lift equipment (up to 45 lbs) and support field deployments when needed.

Pay rate: $37.24hr
